Historical London

London has an amazing history, and there are a number of famous streets in the city.

The best known streets are Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus, Covent Garden and Oxford Street.

In the 18th century, many of these areas were home to theatres and music halls. In more recent times, they have become hotspots for shopping, dining and entertainment.

Other famous areas include Marylebone High Street (home to Madame Tussaud's Waxworks), Soho (where you'll find many restaurants) and Chinatown (a bustling area full of shops and restaurants).

Some of London's most famous roads include Piccadilly Circus and Regent Street - both of which lie in central London. Regent Street is home to numerous high-end stores such as Harrods - one of the largest department stores in Europe; Selfridges - one of the largest shopping malls in Europe; Harvey Nichols - an upscale luxury department store; Fortnum & Mason - an upscale tea shop/delicatessen; John Lewis - one of Britain's leading department stores.
